Career Outcomes

Careers for mining professionals include in-house specialists in mining and chemical companies, including: Mining Consultants, Academics and Researchers. Graduates can expect to obtain employment within these sectors or to further their current careers in mining engineering within the minerals industry. After a set period of practical experience in the industry graduates can apply to the Department of Industry and Resources, Western Australia, to sit for examinations which qualify them for various statutory Certificates of Competency, including Underground Supervisor, Quarry Manager and First Class Mine Manager.
