Master of Engineering Science (Mining)
This course will provides students with a detailed understanding of core areas of mining engineering need to progress their career as Engineers and Scientists in the mining industry in Australia. The flexible course structure allows students to choose from a range of coursework units to complement both their educational background and career aspirations. Students will also undertake at least one research project involving both practical field and laboratory studies and submit a dissertation on your findings.

Careers for mining professionals include in-house specialists in mining and chemical companies, including: Mining Consultants, Academics and Researchers. Graduates can expect to obtain employment within these sectors or to further their current careers in mining engineering within the minerals industry. After a set period of practical experience in the industry graduates can apply to the Department of Industry and Resources, Western Australia, to sit for examinations which qualify them for various statutory Certificates of Competency, including Underground Supervisor, Quarry Manager and First Class Mine Manager.
