Skills recognition

 After successful completion of this course, graduates will be able to seek formal registration from the appropriate state or territory Teachers Registration Board and recognition as a qualified Special Education Teacher in Australia. To be eligible for registration and practise as a teacher in Australia, teachers are required to have appropriate qualifications and also meet the “suitability to teach” criteria.
Note: This qualification equips students with the skills of Secondary School Teacher as identified on the Australian Skilled Occupation List (SOL) (2010).

Career Outcomes

Successful completion of the Bachelor of Special Education prepares qualified teachers to teach children and adolescents with special educational needs (both gifted and learning disabled) in special schools.
