Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Hospitality Management)

This is a combined course offered in conjunction with the Southbank Institute of Technology to provide students with the opportunity to acquire qualifications in Tourism and Hospitality Management. Students will complete the Diploma of Hospitality Management at the Southbank Institute of Technology in their first year of study. They will then go on to complete industry specialisations in order to qualify for the award of Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management. Students will be admitted to the Bachelor of Business (Tourism and Hospitality Management) where they will undertake concurrent studies at the Southbank Institute of Technology and Griffith University as specified in the program structure.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (incorporating the Diploma of Hospitality Management)offered at South Bank Institute of TAFE. Overall IELTS score of 6.0 with no sub-score of less than 5.5; OR no score less than 3 plus in each skill of the ISLPR; OR successful completion of Griffith University Direct Entry English Pathway; OR a TOEFL score of 550 or TOEFL (computer based) score of 213 or TOEFL (internet based) score of 79 (no score less than 19). English test results must not be more than two years old.

This course is recognised by the Australian Institute of Travel and Tourism (AITT) 

Career Outcomes

Graduates of this course find employment in a wide range of tourism enterprises such as attractions, transport and tour services; in other enterprises where tourists are involved such as museums and national parks, and in administrative or coordinating organisations such as regional tourism authorities. It is anticipated that student may acquire positions in the following areas: Club and Gaming Management, Conference and Function Management, Food and Beverage, Supervisory position, Guest Services.
